Residency at Untitled Space, Shanghai
During this month of July 2019, I am lucky to be spending most of my time at Untitled Space, near Shanghai.
The residency is located in the ancient town of Zhujiajiao, and the environment is wonderful. Each artist had his/her private quarter, and a studio space. We often go out together for dinner in the neighbourhood.
I have been here for a week already, and have focused on my new research: a series of drawings and paintings in which I use traditional buddhist iconography to create abstract compositions. During the first week, I mostly focused on drawings and examining different composition possibilities.
Here are some samples of my research.
