Identifying as an abstract artist, I work with patterns in a serial way. These patterns can be extracted from many different sources of inspiration and are combined into non-narrative visual compositions.
Since 2021, I am exploring Platanus tree bark patterns found in Shanghai, to create painted artworks as well as a series of armors and shields, using different materials. Like trees, we are protecting ourselves from the world, hoping not to get hurt, but our efforts are often useless and more an illusion than an actual protection. The platanus is an echo from my childhood in the South of France and this series is a walk down memory lane, reconstructing my story and my quest of identity, as if roots where running between continents. Even though I might have taken a long route, like Ulysse, it feels like I, somehow, came back home when I decided to live and work in Shanghai,
